Nottingham-based photography agency Page One has launched a student placement programme to encourage the best in editorial photography.
It is offering two one-week placements per year, with successful candidates being given the chance to work for the agency's clients, which include a range of national publications and blue chip companies.
They will also receive a £200 bursary.
Students will be chosen form Sheffield College's NCTJ Press Photography course, and applicants need to submit a portfolio of eight to ten pictures.
Doug Marke, picture editor at Page One, said: "We want to try to encourage young photographers to improve their technical skills as well as their creative flair. We have approached Sheffield because their track record is unbeatable.
"We are very keen to push the boundaries of Newspaper photography and encourage young photographers to think beyond the on-camera flash and court snatch."
Doug, the founding photographer of Page One, has been producing feature-led editorial and corporate photography for more than 15 years.
Many of its former photographers now work for national publications such as The Sun, The Guardian and the Toronto Globe and Mail.
