International award win for Mail's Yuri

Oxford Mail photographer Yuri Anderegg has snapped up two awards in a prestigious competition open to the world's best photographers.

Yuri won two gold medals in the International Trierenberg Super Circuit awards, one in the portrait category with a photograph entitled Soul Eater and the second in the panorama category with Saturn Eclipse.

  • Soul Eater
  • Saturn Eclipse
  • The photographer, (35), said: "I am very, very pleased. I have entered this competition a few times before and been successful in smaller categories but never won major awards like this.

"Thousands of professional photographers worldwide enter and only a fraction of these are accepted and winners are chosen from those.

"This is the biggest and most prestigious photography competition in the world. It's fantastic."
