New photography award goes to training scheme scholar

Former national and regional press photographer Mike Maloney is to present a new photography award at the University of Lincoln tomorrow.

Joanna Hunter, of the Hull Daily Mail, is to receive the Mike Maloney and Kodak Express Lincoln Photography Award.

Hull-born Joanna was the eighth scholar of the Hull Daily Mail's journalism training scheme.

Former Mirror Group newspapers chief photographer Mike is a respected journalist with 104 major prizes to his name.

His work has involved photographing world leaders such as Clinton, Reagan, Gorbachev and Yeltsin.

The presentation is due to take place at Chad Varah House in Lincoln.
