Ex-Sentinel snapper sets up his own business

Former Stoke Sentinel photographer Paul Pickard has set up his own freelance picture business.

The award-winning lensman, who has also worked for the Wolverhampton Express & Star, Coventry Evening Telegraph and Derby Evening Telegraph, is now venturing out on his own.

From his Staffordshire base he is offering services in editorial, public relations, commercial, portrait and black and white photography.

And one of his first assignments was as the personal photographer for the Prince of Wales on his first public appearance after announcing his engagement (below).

Paul said: "I spent the day with Prince Charles in the Peak District as he visited remote farms and a pub.

"He told me he already had a wedding photographer arranged, otherwise I think I may have had some follow-up work from him!"
