Death of former picture editor

Former Hull Daily Mail picture editor Maurice Shepley has died.

He had spent 40 years working at the newspaper, joining in 1951.

During his career he had photographed many celebrities who visited the city, including Laurel and Hardy, The Beatles, The Rolling Stones and George Formby.

He died at the city's Princess Royal Hospital.

Maurice is survived by his wife Maureen, daughters Janet and Helen and grandson Alasdair.
