Second 'world exclusive' for Archant snapper

Photographer Michael Hall has captured his second world-beating shot in weeks for the East Anglian Daily Times.

After grabbing the only newspaper picture of supermodel Claudia Schiffer on her wedding day in Suffolk, he was the only lensman to snap champion jockey Kieran Fallon as he left police questioning.

Bury-based Michael, who works for Archant Suffolk, was in a scrum of photographers who were waiting for most of the day while the sportsman was being questioned over race-fixing allegations.

The police eventually told them that a statement would be read out at the back of the building - which is where all but one of the media pack went.

But Michael, suspecting a ruse to allow the jockey a clear getaway, stayed put - and was rewarded with his exclusive shot when he emerged from the police station front door and sprinted to a waiting car.

Editor Terry Hunt said: "It was another great scoop for Michael.

"Yet again he has beaten the press pack, once again demonstrating the enormous value of local knowledge.

"After Claudia and now Kieran Fallon, I'm now waiting for Michael's third world exclusive!"

The picture also proved a hit with other media outlets, thanks to distribution through Archant Syndications.
