Photographers are being given the chance swap tips, share information and discuss the highs and lows of the job, with the launch of a new forum.
Run by south east England-based agency PRESSFOTOS, the forum at pressfotos.co.uk is completely free to use.
The Press Photographers Forum has been specifically set up to enable photographers, agencies and picture desks to discuss technical issues such as image manipulation and wiring, and problems with software and equipment.
There is also space to post details of any business opportunities or requirements, buy and sell equipment, discuss VAT issues and even swap jokes and anecdotes.
The forum is the brainchild of PRESSFOTOS owner, photographer Paul Burgman, who is hoping it will provide press photographers with a chance to keep in touch with each other and tackle the issues that they may be facing.
He said: "Photographers never bump into each other unless they happen to be on the same job.
"A lot of the work I do is discreet stuff, hidden away in blacked out cars and vans, and I can spend six days a week working and never meet any of my colleagues.
"I did quite a bit of research and there doesn't appear to be any other forum like this, specifically for press photographers.
"We deal with issues that are very different from other photographers, such as dealing with newsdesks, pricing and copyright, and there is nowhere else to post those types of topics and questions."
