Royal seal of approval for snappers' coverage of visit

The official website for the monarchy, www.royal.gov.uk, is displaying pictures from the Eastern Daily Press photographic team after a special request from the webmasters.

Simon Finlay and Nick Butcher were covering the Queen's visit to Norwich and the pictures they took – which appeared in the next morning's newspaper, were requested for the popular website.

Simon said: "It is nice to see the pictures being used on such a prestigious website and they will help publicise the EDP and its team of photographers.

"I am just waiting for the royal badge of honour to appear so that I can put it on my camera bag!"

Editor Peter Franzen said: "I am really pleased for Simon and Nick and we believe it is yet another first for the EDP, which has provided top quality Royal coverage for many years."

The Queen was in the city to open a new hospital, and also to launch the £6.7m Norfolk Archive Centre, home to more than 12m historical documents.

You can see the work of Simon and Nick at the official website.
