Photographer burgers off

Photographer Martin Elliott, on his final shift at the Derby Evening Telegraph, bumped into comedian Bernie Clifton - whose ostrich took its chance to find out what a Scotsman really wears under his kilt.

Bernie, starring in Aladdin in the city, popped out for a burger before the matinee performance for schoolchildren.

Little did he know that one of the stalls in the market place sold ostrich burgers - so Martin, on his last shift at the Evening Telegraph before joining The Sentinel in Stoke, went to capture the moment.

But during the shoot, Bernie's bird got a birds eye view of what makes an ostrich stick its head in the sand…
