Photographer's festive display

Photographer Will Nicol has taken many pictures of homes covered in Christmas lights over the years - finally leading him to get in on the act.

This year the Somerset Standard and Somerset Guardian snapper, and his wife Pattie, have got into the festive spirit with an array of lights decorating the front of their Midsomer Norton home.

  • Will and his wife, Pattie, outside their home
  • The silver lights trail from the eaves to a small tree in the front garden, imitating a style the couple saw many times while on a visit to Virginia last year.

But the impressive display was not achieved without much effort from Will and Pattie who, between wind and rain, spent three days putting up the lights which cost around £250.
