Photo contest launched for youngsters

Young photographers are being given the chance to get tips from an award-winning professional, with the launch of a new competition from SportsAid.

The contest is open to all standards, professional or otherwise, aged 21 years and under.

The winner will get to accompany award-winning Getty Images photographer Clive Mason to a top sporting event for coaching and advice.

Run by SportsAid, the charity for sport, the competition is looking for a strong, well-composed image which captures the essence of sport.

There are four age categories, 12 years and under, 13-14 years, 15-16 years and 17-21 years, and each category winner will receive a camera.

An overall winner will then be chosen to accompany Clive to a sporting event.

Entry forms can be downloaded at www.sportsaid.org.uk.

The closing date is Friday, November 28.
