Cathedral city picture work on display

Chief photographer Allan Williamson is hosting an exhibition of his work from more than 30 years snapping life in the cathedral city of Lichfield.

Moments in Time features 240 pictures from his work at the Lichfield Mercury.

The exhibition at Lichfield Library gallery opens on Thursday, November 13.

Allan said: "It was very hard to pick the pictures for the exhibition but there really is a wide range of photos included."

And he remains as passionate about photography as he did in 1973, when he started work there, saying: "The camera is such an amazing invention, because you can capture a moment in time and keep it for ever."
