Booming numbers visit photography website

The British Press Photographers Association is seeing booming visitors numbers at its website britishpressphoto.org.

October has already been the busiest month so far - with more than 2,200 visitors in the past four weeks viewing some 13,000 pages.

For the first time ever, the Association had more than 1,000 page visits in a single day, October 22.

Individual member pages offered by the website have also started to attract a lot of visitors, with several photographers clocking up around 100 visits in the month.

Chairman Jeff Moore said: "The site has also climbed up the various search engine rankings and the Google site has become our biggest visitor referrer.

"It is important that we get as many members' pages online as possible so that when potential backers or sponsors visit this site they see as much great photography as possible."
