Former newspaper photographer John Mackay has died, aged 76.
The well-known photographer died in the Highland Hospice in Inverness, having recently been diagnosed with prostate cancer.
John worked for the Press and Journal in Inverness throughout the 1950s, having previously worked as a marine draftsman.
He later became chief photographer of the The Herald in Glasgow, and retired in 1991.
His funeral will be held at the Church of Scotland, Fortrose, on Thursday.
