The memory of a photographer who recorded events around the Westcountry for more than 50 years will live on through a new bursary to help youngsters pursue their sport or hobby.
Lee Flaws was a staff photographer at the Mid Devon Gazette and later worked in the area as a freelance.
He died at the beginning of this year, aged 70, and a memorial fund was set up by the Tiverton and District Angling Club, of which he was a founder member.
The club bought a riverside bench through a special fund and decided to invest the remaining funds to benefit youngsters in Tiverton.
Club spokesman Michael Edwards said: "As it was felt that Lee was so well liked and respected by all, not just in our own fishing circles, it has been decided that money left after the erection of a memorial seat by his favourite fishing spot will be used as a memorial fund for the benefit of all junior clubs and societies of the town.
"By making money available to all juniors of the town we feel that Lee's memory will live on for a long time to come."
Trustees will meet twice a year to issue small grants to youngsters who deserve help with their sports, hobbies or activities and the fund will be topped up by an annual angling match and donations.
