Sarah weds Herald snapper Paul - her 'prints charming'

Evening Herald photographer Paul Slater was delighted to have snapped up his new bride...

Sarah is the Plymouth newspaper's advertising manager and their romance started with an internal memo!

They married at Kitley House in an unusual ceremony where the guests sat in a circle around the couple as they said their vows, which they had both adapted.

A traditional white tiered wedding cake was replaced by layers of 85 individual cup cakes for each of the guests made by Sarah's mum, Margaret, and Sarah made a speech at the reception instead of Paul.

Sarah, who has worked at the Herald for ten years, said: "We just wanted something a bit different. We were not having everything traditional. We did not have a top table either; we just did speeches sat by the fire. We just tried to break away from the norm."

Paul was supported by his best friend Al Dixon, who acted as best man.

The couple met through the Herald, but got together when Sarah sent Paul an internal memo asking him to take her out in March last year.

They were engaged on September 13 and chose Mauritius for their honeymoon.
