The cycle route began at the town of Ras Sudr, with a relatively short distance of 55km before the group camped overnight on the beach on the edge of the Red Sea.
Doug said: "It was lovely. We were able to swim in the sea and bathe in the hot springs to relax our muscles."

Day two of cycling took the group to Wadi Feiran - a distance of 128km - and after setting off at 6am the group were on the road for 12 hours giving them their longest day.
But with refreshment stops every 15 to 20km, and energy foods such as bananas, oranges and nuts available, the group were able to go the distance.
Doug said: "The support team was brilliant. There was also a truck with water where they would shower you with water and there was always water available to drink."
Doug also managed to successfully tackle day three of the cycle route, which saw the group cycle 77km uphill, and day four when they covered over 100km and also encountered a sandstorm.
And after coping with temperatures of up to 38C, the group were also met with rain on their last day of cycling - the first the Sinai Desert had had in five years.
Doug said: "I was elated when we finished. We really bonded as a group and all crossed the finish line together. It was an intense nine days."
Doug has raised more than £3,500 in sponosrship for the trip. He hopes to take part in the China Bike Ride next year.Back to the photography index
