Sarah shows off her shots

A Shropshire Star photographer will open an exhibition of her work next month, showing images she took during the first anniversary of the September 11 attacks.

Photographer Sarah Jeynes travelled to New York last year with the paper's women's editor, Tracey O'Sullivan, to report on the anniversary.

Her emotional shots captured the atmosphere in New York as the city saluted those who lost their lives, and her work will be displayed at the Gallery Cafe in Bridgnorth from May 1 until May 30.

  • One of the images due to be displayed
  • It will be Sarah's first exhibition, and the pictures will be moved to the Music Hall in Shrewsbury in time for the second anniversary in September.

Sarah, (28), said: "It was very emotional to be in New York and the Americans were fantastic.

"I hope the pictures will provide an emotional insight into the lives of New Yorkers after September 11."
