New picture editor for EDP

Former national newspaper photographer Bryn Colton is to become the new picture editor of the Eastern Daily Press.

He will take over from Dennis Whitehead who is retiring after 25 years at the paper, the last 10 as picture editor.

Bryn currently does freelance work for Archant's publishing agency, Archant Dialogue, which produces lifestyle, specialist, business-to-business and international magazines, newsletters, brochures and reports.

At the age of 21, he became the youngest staff photographer in Fleet Street when he joined the Daily Mail, and later worked for the Sunday Times.

He then worked as a freelance for the Times and the Sunday Telegraph before moving back to his native Norfolk from London to set up the Assignments agency in Norwich.

In recent years he has concentrated his business on editorial, corporate and advertising markets, including portrait work on several Archant Dialogue publications.
