Mail snapper's image to be seen worldwide

A picture taken by a photographer at the Hull Daily Mail is set to be seen worldwide as part of a charity's publicity campaign.

Samaritan's Purse will use the picture of a Romanian gipsy boy gleefully hugging a gift-wrapped shoebox, taken by Mail photographer Phil Dawes, to promote its Operation Christmas Child appeal which aims to collect gift-filled shoeboxes and deliver them to needy children.

The charity decided that the image of three-year-old Robert Berki captured in a single frame what the appeal is all about.
