Former Examiner snapper dies at 81

A former Huddersfield Daily Examiner photographer has died aged 81.

Frank Firth worked on the paper for more than 30 years before retiring 20 years ago.

Before joining the Examiner he ran a commercial photography business.

He was a long-serving member of the 59 (Huddersfield) Squadron Air Training Corps, rising to the rank of flight lieutenant, and was also a Freemason.

Mr Firth, a widower, leaves three daughters, eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

His funeral was held at Huddersfield Crematorium on Wenesday.
