Garry Atkinson, chief photographer of the Evening Press at York has been named regional Sports Photographer of the Year for a picture that captured the second that Yorkshire's cricketers won glory.

The photograph (above) of Yorkshire County Cricket Club captain David Byas's catch, which clinched the County Championship for Yorkshire for the first time in 30 years, was snapped by Garry in Scarborough.
It was chosen as the best by judges in Sport England's Photographer of the Year competition.
Garry (right) said: "The picture captured the exact moment that Yorkshire won the title, and it looks like David Byas is praying.
"I entered it after deputy sports editor Tony Kelly told me he thought it was an excellent picture, and I want to say a special thanks to him after it won.
"Obviously I am absolutely delighted."
He received his prize at an awards dinner in Sheffield.
Garry is current Newsquest Photographer of the Year.
