A two-week trip to Rio de Janeiro has been snapped up by a student on the NCTJ press photography course at Sheffield College.

Amvrosios Demou, (38), was a category winner in Wanderlust magazine's Travel Photograph of the Year Competition, sponsored by the Daily Telegraph.

It attracted more than 3,000 entries.

Amvrosios won the In The City category with his image of a fast-moving rickshaw in Calcutta, taken while tackling a reportage assignment. He will be taking his trip when he finishes the course in June.

His tutor Paul Delmar said: "Amvrosios' talent would be an asset to any newspaper or agency."
