Exhibition shows stresses and strains of managerial life

Newcastle United fans can relive the past glories of some of the team's former managers with a new exhibition in the city.

A three-month exhibition has opened at the Discovery Museum featuring pictures taken by photographers from Newcastle Chronicle.

The exhibition shows the highs and lows, and stresses and strains of managerial life, and includes photographs of Kenny Dalglish, Jack Charlton and Ruud Gullit.

Around 40 pictures from the thousands in the newspaper's archive have been picked for the show.

Picture editor Rod Wilson said: "The Chronicle is famed for the quality of its photos.

"These pictures from our archives dating back to before the Second World War show how we have always been hot shots at capturing key moments in Tyneside's history."

  • The exhibition is now open and runs until February.
