Dream job thanks to prize win

A winner of one of the prestigious Picture Editors' Awards has completedhis dream assignment, working on news feature stories in Indonesia.

James Williamson, the Guinness Young Photographer of the Year spent three weeks travelling to offshore fisheries, coffee and sugar plantations, and sulphur mines in Java and Sumatra.

His journey was made possible thanks to the £3,000 bursary awarded to the winner.

A portfolio of his work from the Scottish Daily Express can be seen as part of the PictureAwards.co.uk website.

The bursary is awarded in memory of photographer Alan Harper, who was killed in Kuwait at the end of the Gulf War.
