Hundreds pay last respects to Len

Hundreds of people have turned out to pay their respects at the funeral of photographer Len Pitson.

The former South Wales Evening Post chief photographer died aged 68, after a three-and-a-half year battle against cancer.

Singer Bonnie Tyler and Catherine Zeta Jones's parents Dai and Pat Jones were
among those present at the funeral, along with family and former colleagues.

Former Evening Post football correspondent John Burgun, said: "He was a tremendous colleague. He had a tremendous knowledge of football, far more than people realised.

"He didn't just take photographs. He could analyse the game and the players respected him for that."

Evening Post editor George Edwards also paid tribute to Len.

He said: "Len will be fondly remembered by all who knew him and worked with him as a traditional newspaperman who was in love with his job.

"He tackled everything with huge enthusiasm and this enthusiasm rubbed off on those around him.

"To many people outside the building he really was the Evening Post. He had friends everywhere and rightly so."
