Budding snappers entering a photography competition are to be given some of the best tuition possible - by one of the Hull Daily Mail's top men.
Photographer Dave Keegan, who has been with the Mail since 1989, will be giving his top 10 tips for taking a good photograph later this week at a workshop as part of the Hull University's One Day in May photography competition.
Dave will be taking pictures along to illustrate good photography techniques and focus on the themes of the competition, which are work, leisure, school, family, sport and environment.
He said: "It is the first time I have been asked to take part in a photography workshop and I am looking forward to passing on a few tips for taking pictures.
"One way to improve your skills is to learn how other photographers work and add their best ideas to your own."
Along with offering practical advice, Dave will also be looking at what makes a memorable photograph.
He will be using photographs which represent a significant moment in history as examples.
The university's One Day in May contest, launched last month, invites everyone in the region to take a photograph of any aspect of life on Tuesday, May 1.
