Picture Editors' nominations announced

The names in the frame for the Picture Editors' Awards 2000 have been decided.

The nominations include photographers from the local, regional and national press, as well as agency workers and freelance talent.

The Awards Ceremony will be held in the Great Hall of Guildhall on Monday, February 12.

The nominations are as follows:

Portfolio Awards:
Fujifilm Photographer of the Year (£5,000):
Dan Chung - Reuters
Jonathan Evans - Reuters
Toby Melville - Press Association
Jeremy Selwyn - Evening Standard;

Fujifilm Portfolio Award - Single Story (£2,000):
Richard Austin - Freelance
Keiran Doherty - Reuters
John James - Birmingham Post
Ian Rutherford - The Scotsman;

Fujifilm Magazine Photographer of the Year (£2,000):
Tom Craig - Independent
Martin Hunter - Freelance
Alan Peebles - Daily Record
Tom Stoddart - Freelance;

Guinness Young Photographer of the Year (£2000: The winner also receives an Alan Harper Bursary for up to £3,000 to fund a photographic project):
Charles Bibby - Freelance (FT/Sunday Business)
Rob Bodman - Daily Telegraph
Graeme Robertson - Alan Richardson Photography
James Williamson - Scottish Daily Express;
