
Photographer James Millar, of the Nottingham Evening Post, had a shock when he turned up at a Methodist Church to photograph members of West Bridgford Operatic Society.
For the group had stripped off to publicise their appeal for more men to join their cast for a forthcoming production of Me and My Girl
Reporter Lorne Jackson said: "He certainly got more - or less - than he had bargained for. Reading between the lines proved to be an extremely revealing experience."
Group member Sonia Dimmock was happy to reveal all.
She said: "At the moment there are only 12 men in our company compared to 28 women.
She added: "We all had a really good laugh posing for the photograph. We thought it was a bit like these photographs of the Women's Institute when they hardly have any clothes on.
"It certainly was something a bit different for the Evening Post photographer at any rate!"
