Naked shocker for James

Photographer James Millar, of the Nottingham Evening Post, had a shock when he turned up at a Methodist Church to photograph members of West Bridgford Operatic Society.

For the group had stripped off to publicise their appeal for more men to join their cast for a forthcoming production of Me and My Girl

Reporter Lorne Jackson said: "He certainly got more - or less - than he had bargained for. Reading between the lines proved to be an extremely revealing experience."

Group member Sonia Dimmock was happy to reveal all.

She said: "At the moment there are only 12 men in our company compared to 28 women.

She added: "We all had a really good laugh posing for the photograph. We thought it was a bit like these photographs of the Women's Institute when they hardly have any clothes on.

"It certainly was something a bit different for the Evening Post photographer at any rate!"
