The appearance of actress Gwyneth Paltrow in Lincolnshire is bringing a touch of Hollywood glamour to the East Midlands city. And you can forgive staff at the Lincolnshire Echo for being a tiny bit star-struck.
The star is in Lincolnshire to film scenes for the romantic drama Possession, written by A. S. Byatt.
Photographers Ben Birchall and Ian Jubb were delighted to get a set of exclusive pictures of her both on and off set.
These included pictures of her coming out of a 'ye olde worlde' type pie shop, after a meal with a friend, which were used in the Echo.

Oscar winning Gwyneth leaves a famous Lincoln pie shop with a friend during a night off in the cityBut it wasn't all plain sailing for Ben, who explained: "After a problem with my quantum pack I had to resort to using batteries in the flash. Anyway, as soon as Gwyneth came out of the shop I started shooting but the drain on the batteries was too much and it gave up.

Lincolnshire Echo photographer Ben Birchall chats to Gwyneth after his camera batteries failed "Gwyneth had a bit of a chuckle as I explained the situation, so I ended up chatting and walking with her, and her friend, back to the hotel."
Fortunately, Ian was on hand to record the moment for posterity.
"I don't know which I enjoyed most, getting some cool pictures of a famous Hollywood star or chatting with a very lovely person," said Ben.
The film, which co-stars Aaron Eckhart, is due to be released in America in October next year and in Britain in January 2002
