Up, up and away

Photographer David Harrison took to the skies to secure some unusual pictures for the York Evening Press.

He took a Nikon D1 digital camera with a 17-35 mm lens and a Nikon F90 with a 80-200mm lens with him.

David flew in a balloon sponsored by a local off-licence for a prelim story on the Ordnance Survey UK National Ballooning Championships.

He told the readers: "The flight was very smooth and it was quite warm up there. There was some nice ground mist and it was a very nice flight."

The contest was taking place at Castle Howard, north of York, throughout this week. Entrants are competing for a place in the World Air Games taking place in Spain next year.
