Photographers from the Grimsby Telegraph rose to the challenge when Cleethorpes promenade became the place to be for pop fans as the Party on the Pier swung into life.

Stars including Billie Piper, Shaft, Scooch, a1, Boomfunk MC and EastEnders actor-turned-singer Sid Owen, entertained thousands of fans who lined the promenade, the beach, and spilled into the sea duing an exciting afternoon of music and action.

Picture Editor David Moss and photographers David Tilley, Ray Corke and Duncan Young, filled a full-colour eight-page supplement with pictures including a dramatic aerial shot - used across the centre spread - of the seafront showing the stage on the pier and the crowds filling the beach and the nearby streets.
