Stuart's just the ticket for race fans

Photographer and motorcycle fanatic Stuart de Castro made a young couple's day while covering a visit to Derby by ace rider Steve Hislop.

The Derby Evening Telegraph staffer was at the city's Virgin Megastore, where Hislop was promoting Virgin's Superbike team and Sunday's World Superbike Series at Donington Park.

Visitors to yesterday's promotional event received tickets for a draw with the chance to win admission for two to the event at Donington.

Stuart (29) got talking to a couple who said they would love to go but could not afford it. "I said: Look, if I win, you can have mine,'" said the 29-year-old photographer, who is giving up his day off to cover the racing for the Telegraph.

Minutes later, his ticket was drawn and he duly kept his promise.

"They were overjoyed," he said. "She came over and gave me a kiss on the cheek and he shook my hand.

"I wouldn't have done anything with the tickets anyway, so they might as well enjoy them."
