Ex-news man now in Africa to link up for carol service

A former Somerset reporter will be linking up with his old patch for a special Christmas carol service.

Nigel Marsh, who was a reporter on the Chard and Ilminster News, is now global editor of World Vision.

The charity is the largest privately funded one in the world with a turnover of £1bn and a keen emphasis on child poverty.

Nigel will link up live from his home in Kenya with Hemyock Baptist Church, near Taunton, on Sunday.

He will address the congregation with a Christmas message incorporating a strong African theme.

Nigel was born in Somerset and his parents live near Taunton.

He trained and worked as a journalist in the area before moving to Africa where he lives with his wife Jane and their children.
