Silver anniversary reunion for former university journalism students

Preston Polytechnic's newspaper journalism students are getting together for a silver anniversary reunion next year.

The class of 1983-84 includes current Daily Express deputy city editor Peter Cunliffe, Daily Mirror news sub Dave Lea, ex-Sun staffer Charlie Yates and Edinburgh Evening News editor John McLellan.

Among those already signed are Derby Evening Telegraph sports writer Mark Eklid, Rachel Norris of the Eskdale Advertiser, Daily Telegraph sub Peter Bainbridge, Leeds City Council PR officer Donna Saul and BBC South's Joe Campbell.

The event is planned for October 4, in Preston, and there will be a special prize for remembering the name of the public administration lecturer who used to live near Garstang.

For more information and to sign up contact Dave Lea on 07986 076367 or e-mail davidlea@blueyonder.co.uk, Rachel Norris on Rachel.Norris@Cumbrian-newspapers.co.uk or John McLellan on jmclellan@edinburghnews.com.
