Newspapers turn to digital platform as Lasting Tribute takes off

A new digital platform for people to pay tribute to loved ones who have died has recorded more than a million page views for October.

Lasting Tribute is a national site built and launched by Associated Northcliffe Digital in Derby.

It is also working with Northcliffe's newspaper websites to publish local obituary notices.

Each editor has the ability to add local obituaries to their home page and local advertising departments have space to sell local display space.

From a standing start six months ago, the site – which also covers obits of national figures and military deaths – has grown to more than 120,000 visits for the month.
