A journalist who is terrified of heights and suffers from motion sickness is to attempt a 95ft high zipwire ride across the Manchester Ship Canal.
Pamela Welsh, a reporter on Salford Advertiser, has volunteered to take part in the stunt to raise money for Marie Curie Cancer Care.
She will be among the thrillseekers who will take their turn to be clipped to the 300m long wire, which will run from the top of the Imperial War Museum North across the water to the Lowry Theatre.
Pamela, (22), said: "Working on a newspaper I write so many stories about people helping charities, but I've never done anything like that myself so I decided to give it go.
"I'm afraid of heights and suffer from motion sickness so I might throw up, but I thought it would be a good idea because it requires minimal effort in terms of training.
"I might need a vodka before I go on though!"
Pamela will tackle the charity stunt on Sunday, and aims to raise £200 in sponsorship.
