The Norwich Evening News has carried out a major survey of fans of Norwich City FC, as the club languishes in the bottom three of the Championship.

With such a bad start to the season, the Evening News - which runs dedicated team website Pinkun.com - decided to give the fans a voice and find out their views.

More than 300 fans responded to the seven-point online survey in just 24 hours, and a team of reporters also canvassed opinion before last Tuesday's match against Scunthorpe United.

The results were then published in paper - propmting another flurry of feedback with three double-page spreads of letters published on the issue so far.

Evening News acting editor Tim Williams told holdthefrontpage: "We are nine games into the season and it's fair to say it has not been a very good start, with the team in the bottom three of the Championship when they were in the Premier League just three seasons ago.

"Needless to say the fans are a tad disappointed and we thought it would be a good time to do an online survey, which we promoted in the paper on the web."

The survey itself revealed that six out of ten fans were 'dissatisfied' with the current state of club, one third were 'angry' and one in three fans feared relegation.

But Tim said the survey also revealed that there were things about the club that fans were pleased with.

He said: "There was a lot of positive stuff to be taken from it. The fans recognised what the club is doing with its academy, it has a great family policy, reasonably priced tickets and good facilities.

"The survey worked very well and provided two good days of coverage. We couldn't include all the comments in-paper but it worked well using the website as we could get them all online.

"Sometimes the fans don't have a voice and that is where we can come in."
