Western Mail and South Wales Echo publisher Western Mail & Echo Ltd is to be renamed Media Wales.

The company, which is part of Trinity Mirror, says the move is in recognition of its diverse print and online portfolio and will better reflect the breadth of what it does.

The name Media Wales will take effect from October 1 and comes as the Cardiff-based firm prepares to move to new headquarters next year and to relaunch its website, icWales, this autumn.
