The Worcester News has launched a new Monday sports pull-out.

Sport on Monday, a 12-page full-colour supplement, features full coverage of local and national sport from the weekend - and editor Kevin Ward says it has already scored with readers and advertisers.

He said: "This is the first major change I've made to the paper since I arrived in May and I'm delighted with the way it has gone."

He added: "We spent a month preparing dummies of the pull-out and putting together a promotional campaign both in print and online.

"The launch edition was excellent. We are getting a good response from readers already and there are some strong advertising revenues in the supplement."

The launch edition included coverage of Worcester Warriors rugby and Worcester City football clubs, Hereford United, Kidderminster Harriers, Malvern Town and Evesham United, as well as news from the Rugby and Twenty20 World Cups and Premiership and Championship football action involving West Midlands clubs.
