Reporter's £1,115 haul in charity fun run quest

Three reporters for Archant newspaper The Comet have raised more than £4,000 by taking part in Stevenage’s first Race for Life.

Becky Findley, Hannah Gray and Louise McEvoy were among the 2,000 women who made their way round the 5km course.

To get into the spirit of things and to raise as much money as possible, they had a competition to see who could get the most sponsorship, with the two losers taking the winner out for lunch.

It looks like Hannah and Louise will be treating Becky as she has raised an amazing £1,115.

Hannah said: "We don’t mind buying lunch for Becky as she’s done really well to get that much money.

"It got a bit competitive for a while and we all got very excited every time someone sponsored us.

"Like so many people, we’ve all got a personal reason for taking part and we’re pleased we’ve been able to make so much money for such a good cause."
