Former Express & Star journalists sought for reunion

Two former Express & Star journalists are looking for fellow ex-staffers for a planned reunion next month.

Former reporter Helen Barklam and photographer Paul Pickard would like to hear from editorial staff who spent time working at the Wolverhampton-based paper, from any era, who would like to attend.

Helen worked for the Express & Star during the 1990s, starting out as a trainee in 1994, and worked alongside Paul who has also worked for the Stoke Sentinel, Derby Evening Telegraph and Coventry Evening Telegraph.

Helen said: "At the time we were a close-knit team and got on well and socialised together.

"We thought it would be lovely to get together for drinks, and then we thought why not widen it out - it could escalate into a massive event.

"We have hired a room which can hold 100 people and I have a feeling we could hit that and even go over.

"It should be a good night."

The reunion will be held on October 20 at The Newhampton pub, Riches Street, Wolverhampton, from 7pm.

If you would like to attend, contact Helen on helen@avaandgrace.com or call 07917 148900.
