Halifax Evening Courier sub-editor Neil Wilcock has become the first person to pass the new National Certificate Examination for sub-editors from the National Council for the Training of Journalists.
Neil won his qualification - introduced to tackle a growing problem of a lack of qualified subs in newsrooms - at his first attempt.
He had previously become one of the first people to gain the preliminary sub-editing certificate, passing all of his exams at his first attempt in December.
