RSC opens workshop to boost effective coverage of the arts

The Royal Shakespeare Company wants to recruit journalists for its arts journalist development scheme, now in its second year.

The RSC is dedicated to opening up its work to a diverse range of people and has identified people it wants to target - including 16 to 44-year-olds and minority ethnic groups.

As part of this work, it is also developing relationships with journalists who have connections with ethnic and/or youth press to raise its profile about various productions and initiatives.

To learn more about the scheme and meet actors, directors, and theatre staff, and develop contacts with national arts journalists, there is an arts journalism session on July 7 at the RSC in Stratford-upon-Avon.

It runs between 3pm and 5pm and is designed to boost journalists’ ability to report effectively on the arts. The cost is £5, payable on the door.
