London weekly's readers' edition could be back soon due to high demand

The first-ever Readers' Edition of the Ham&High was published today.

It was such a success that the 24-page supplement to the Ham&High could easily have been extended to 48 pages, according to editor Geoff Martin.

He said: "We've been inundated with contributions from readers, who have sent us everything from cartoons, poems and crosswords, to an informed analysis of what our readers need to do to help save the planet.

"The standard of journalism is very high, which is exactly what I would have expected from our readership but I have been surprised by the volume of contributions.

"The only problem has been deciding what to leave out. I'm already looking at repeating the exercise at least once before the end of the year."

Contributions will also appear on the newspaper's website.
