The Wakefield Express has hit the streets with its new tabloid look.

The weekly paper announced plans to convert from broadsheet to tabloid format after an in-paper vote showed that it was what readers wanted. It published its first new shape issue on Friday.

It followed a final broadsheet paper which was signed off with a striking back page which simply read 'The End'.
