If you can write a true-life story then you could scoop £1,000 if it impresses the judges at Toowrite.com.
Toowrite is a unique website to showcase writing skills, and has proved popular with more than 6,000 stories being submitted so far.
It is unusual in requiring stories to be told in the first person, and that visitors to the site can vote on which stories they want to see in the final judging line-up.
There is also a lively message board where contributors can discuss the strengths and weaknesses of each other’s prose, something which has provoked some entertaining discussion during the past few weeks.
Click through to see some of the stories already submitted.
Entrants can send up to five previously unpublished true pieces through before the deadline on April 5.
This season’s contest is different to the dozen run previously, because the organisers will no longer be proof-reading stories before they are published on the site, which means people will be able to judge a story in its original form - warts and all.
Each story can be up to 1,500 words long and you can submit a photo of yourself. To enter a story to Toowrite.com you need to have a membership account, which is free to set up.
