The Journalists' Charity has appointed a manager of its new care home, which is due to open in the spring.
Helen Tomlinson has lived near the charity's Surrey headquarters since 2005. She is a qualified nurse and social worker and has a master's degree in social policy.


Archant Norfolk picture editor Bryn Colton has left the company to join Bloomberg's London bureau as one of the three picture editors looking after Europe, Africa and the Middle East.
Bryn joined the picture desk five years ago, leading a team producing pictures for the Norwich Evening News and Eastern Daily Press.


Former Yorkshire Evening Post editor Malcolm Barker was among those to speak at the Yorkshire Post's latest literary lunch.
He talked about his latest book, Essence of Whitby, which is about the town where he was born.
He edited the Evening Post for 17 years, having previously been deputy editor and features editor of the Yorkshire Post.
