The former editor of Swansea student newspaper 'Waterfront' has entered the record books by becoming the first person to skateboard across Australia.
To prepare for the feat, Dave Cornthwaite completed a 1,450km skate from John o'Groats to Land's End last summer, taking a month to complete it.
In the process he became the first person to skate the length of Britain.
Dave left Perth on his board 'Elsa', heading for the Great Eastern Highway, then travelled south along the Coolgardie to Esperance Highway.
Four days later he turned east to cross the Nullarbor Plain, an area renowned for its hostility. He completed his skate of the Nullarbor when he reached Ceduna, in Southern Australia, then pushed into Adelaide where he suffered a setback, injuring his foot on a piece of metal during a photoshoot.
After two weeks though, he pressed on to the coast and Melbourne.
Dave eventually completed his journey at the end of last month when he reached Brisbane, having skateboarded 5,823km across Australia.
