The Society of Editors annual conference will take place in Manchester from November 4 to 6.
It will be based at the Radisson Edwardian Manchester in the heart of the city which is home to this year's SoE president, Manchester Evening News editor Paul Horrocks.

Associated Northcliffe Digital, the digital division of Associated Newspapers and Northcliffe Media, has appointed The One Off to develop the brand identity of its 'Thisis' network of 32 regional newspaper websites.
The network, which includes sites like thisisbristol.co.uk, attracts more than 2m unique visitors every month and has enjoyed 40 per ent growth in traffic over the past 12 months.

The ex-Belper News editor and Ripley and Heanor News and Derbyshire Times journalist was in the running for the Best Original Song prize for his track Steelos.
